Council Bin Men on Strike

Another "Summer of Discontent" begins today as thousands of workers, including cleaners and bin men, begin a 48 hour walkout over low pay rises.
Many of Unison's 600,000 local government workers are affected. The union is furious about a below inflation pay rise of 2.45 per cent. Further stoppages are anticipated throughout the summer.
So, just as the warm weather finally arrives, our wheelie bins may not be regularly emptied, with the inevitable risks of bad smells and bugs and bacteria developing around the bin areas.
Help may be at hand with BinScents' Wheelie Bin Freheners! They may not be able to empty the bins for you but the unique blend of natural fruit fragrance and tea tree oil help to mask any unpleasant bin odours, while the tea tree oil acts as a proven, natural antiseptic, deterring the arrival of insect larvae and germs such as E-coli and salmonella.
You can buy BinScents Wheelie Bin Fresheners in Tesco for £1.49 or directly through our E-Bay shop. Fresheners are available in lemon, red apple or lime fragrances.
